The RAINBOW Tag

Bonjourno!

The Rainbow Tag is a recent tag going around You Tube and blogs where you pick your favourite beauty item from each colour of the rainbow (plus pink and multicoloured thrown in for good measure!). So I thought I would give it a to although some have definitely proved more tricky than others (yeah I mean you indigo and violet):

Red:

How could I pick anything other than I nice red lipstick?! An absolutely staple in my collection, although I couldn't pick between these three: Rimmel Kate Moss Matte Lipsticks in 107 (top) and 110 (bottom) and Mac Russian Red. 107 is a definite winter shade, 110 a definite summer and Russian Red falls somewhere in between. These lipsticks are all matte finish which I prefer looks wise although I sometimes find them very drying on my lips, so lip balm is always an essential. I think it would be impossible to choose a favourite red make up item that wasn't a lipstick!

Orange:

Ok so the products may not be very orange but that packaging definitely is! This is the Benefit World Famous Neutrals, Most Glamorous Nudes Ever palette (longest name ever). I really like the versatility of this product colour wise and I like that it comes with a mix of cream and powder shadows. I find I can make a really bright daytime look out of this palette but also quite a dark smokey eye if that's what I'm fancying! I like this set for travelling especially as its quite compact and the box is pretty durable so I'm not too worried about the powders smashing. I also think this is great value for money at about £23 I think and it also comes with a little "how too" guide with suggestions of day and nighttime looks.

Yellow:

So maybe this isn't quite yellow, but its yellow-ish sort of so that's good enough for me! I've been loving this hair oil recently, I find it so versatile and think it actually gives very noticeable results. I wrote my last blog post about this so won't say too much more but have a read of my other post!

Green:

The "Simple" skin care range is always a 'go to' range for me. I find they have products for so many different purposes  and most of the ones I have tried seem to have great results. The pictured items are just ones I am currently using but I also really like the cleansers and toners in particular. Simple is a great skin care range for everyone as you can pretty much trust that your skin won't react to it as I don't think any of the products have perfumes or colours and they are all aimed at specific skin types. Always a reliable brand that will have something for your needs I think!

Blue:

Maybe a slightly unusual choice but I really like this lip balm. I often struggle to find lip balms that actually have a permanent effect and doesn't just feel nice while its sat on your lips. I have liked other Blistex lip balms I have tried but I particularly like this Moisture Max version mostly because it is in a tube not a pot (this means no sticky fingers and I don't have to look around for somewhere to wipe my finger on afterwards!) and it doesn't give that tingly feeling that makes you think it's working but it actually isn't. It's also very reasonably priced at around £2.50 I think and is a great everyday choice.

Indigo:

Ok so clutching at straws a little bit here but seriously, you try finding something indigo in your collection! Therefore I have taken indigo to mean bluey/purple-ish! Having searched high and low I came across this Body Shop Blueberry Body Butter. My choice really represents Body Butters from The Body Shop in general as I think they're really effective body moisturisers and one pot lasts me at least a whole summer with regular use. I really like this blueberry scent, which I got as a birthday present, but I think my favourite that I have tried is the Shea Butter version. These Body Butters are a very reasonable price for the amount you get and how long it lasts and can also almost always be found on some kind of deal. I love the Body Shop and this is a definite repurchase.

Violet:

Again, this isn't really violet, but its pinky/purple so that will do! I features the Maybelline, The FalsiesFlared mascara in my Top 10 Make Up Must Haves blog and it has fast become my staple mascara. I love the way it gives my lashes the perfect amount of length and volume, without having too much of either and I really like the shape of the brush and the way it can be used to shape the lashes. There are a few different versions in the 'Falsies' range and I've heard nothing but good things about them all!

Pink:

A very new purchase but so far so good! I really struggle to find a blush I'm happy with but I like this one so far. As its a cream brush you can blend a tiny bit to give a really subtle look or build up the product for a really 'blushed' look! In the pot it does look a little scarily pink but on the face and blended in I find it gives a really nice, natural look to my cheeks. My favourite way to apply this is with my Real Techniques Stippling or DuoFibre face brush with a little bit of Bronzer and highlighter too. In this range there is also a coral colour and a peachy orange, both of which I am now very keen to try!

Multicoloured:

Surprise, surprise the Real Techniques are out again, but they're just great and there's a brush for every possible use, all of which work really well and apply product beautifully. They are reasonably priced and great quality so I would definitely recommend picking up a few if you don't already have any!

So that's the colours of my Make Up Rainbow! I'm sorry some of the choices were not really the colours they were meant to be but it was reallyyyyyy hard! If you have done a Rainbow Tag blog post then post the link below so I can have a look.

Thanks for stopping by,

H x
