13 DAYS AND COUNTING!
I am so excited for this summer, I have the most amazing plans and I thought I would share with you a few of the things I will be getting up to.
Music: One of my favourite things to do on a beautiful summers day is go to a concert or festival. I'm previous years I have been to gigs like Arcade Fire in Hyde Park and Radio 1's Hackney Weekend and this year I have even more things booked. First I am going to see Rihanna in Cardiff's Millennium Stadium, I am so excited for this because I saw her at Hackney and she was surprisingly amazing, the gig is also only a few days after I finish Uni so it will be a really nice way to end the year. I am going with my old flat ate Anna who I am also going to India with, but more on that later. Next Chris and I are going to the Summer Stampede festival in the London Olympic Park which will just be incredible. The main headliners are Mumford and Sons who are one of my favourite bands ever, also playing is Ben Howard who is again a favourite as well as Vampire Weekend, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, Haim and Vampire Weekend as well as a couple more acts. I am less excited for these, although I am sure they will still be great I am definitely going for Mumford and Ben Howard, both of which I have seen before and they were probably some of the best live acts I've experienced. And finally, completing my music related plans for the summer is Wireless festival. We (Chris, my sisters and me) have tickets for the Saturday and this means one thing and one thing only...Jay-Z. I have to say the rest of the Wireless line up is looking pretty tragic but I know seeing Jay-Z will make up for all of that, I'll be rapping along to 99 Problems like no bodies business.
Silverstone: As I mentioned a couple of posts back, Chris and I will be going to the Formula 1 at Silverstone for the second time this summer. We went two years ago and it was a great day, despite the 3am start (not cool), so I'm really looking forward to getting into it again this year. Unless it rains all day, then my views will be very much altered.
Polzeath: The much loved holiday destination for me and my family. We go camping here for a week every year and it's just great, although I use the term 'camping' very loosely, the campsite we go to definitely falls into the category of 'glamping' as they say in Essex. Our week in Polzeath is spend pretending we can surf, sunbathing, reading many a trashy book and best of all barbecuing on the beach. We go with a group of family friends who ensure there is never a dull or quiet moment and Chris will be taking a few days off work to join us too, perfect!
India: This is a definite 'best till last' situation. Just after Polzeath me and my friend Anna will be jetting off to the Land of the Maharajas for a month and I just can't wait. This will be my first proper 'travelling' experience so I'm a tiny bit apprehensive, although I am 99.9% certain it's going to be the best month of my life. We have booked a 20 day long trip through STA travel company and will be spending the rest our time travelling round the country on our own, making. Our way to Mumbai for our flight home. Our plans for this time have many different forms although my two favoured options would be to go to a nature park where we can cuddle elephants or tigers, or spend the week in Goa soaking up the sun (although I am led to believe it will be monsoon season in Goa so maybe not!). Whatever we end up going I know it will be amazing, I am so excited to dive into a brand new country and culture and sample all the delights India has to offer.
So there you have a little overview of my summer 2013 plans, I can't wait for exams to be over and to get going with all of this, 13 days seems such a long time right now!
Thanks for stopping by,
H x
